07/02 Compass Guide Comments By Dr. Daniel Daves

Post by Admin on Sat Jul 06, 2013 11:03 am

2-Jul 2 Chron. 13-14, Acts 5-6, Psalms 11-15, Proverbs 2

2 Chron 13:8, 11-12 (NIV)8 "And now you plan to resist the kingdom of the Lord, which is in the hands of David's descendants. You are indeed a vast army and have with you the golden calves that Jeroboam made to be your gods.      . . . . We are observing the requirements of the Lord our God. But you have forsaken him. 12 God is with us; he is our leader. His priests with their trumpets will sound the battle cry against you. Men of Israel, do not fight against the Lord, the God of your fathers, for you will not succeed."

Two kings stood before each other, prepared for war.  Abijah from Judah who had followed God and obeyed His commands, and Jeroboam who had left God and trusted in his own evil ways.  When Jeroboam attacked and ambushed Abijah, his men called on the Lord and the priests blew the trumpets.  The call and the trumpet caused the Lord to step into the 3rd earth dimension and completely route Jeroboam and his armies.

2 Chron 13:13-18 (NIV) 13 Now Jeroboam had sent troops around to the rear, so that while he was in front of Judah the ambush was behind them. 14 Judah turned and saw that they were being attacked at both front and rear. Then they cried out to the Lord. The priests blew their trumpets 15 and the men of Judah raised the battle cry. At the sound of their battle cry, God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. 16 The Israelites fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hands. 17 Abijah and his men inflicted heavy losses on them, so that there were five hundred thousand casualties among Israel's able men. 18 The men of Israel were subdued on that occasion, and the men of Judah were victorious because they relied on the Lord, the God of their fathers.

There is a difference between LOOKING the part and PLAYING the part.  Jeroboam, King of Israel looked good and had alot of power.  But he was hollow, empty, and only had natural strength on his side.  He would lose the battle which he had incited against his brothers.

King Abijah had followed the Lord wholeheartedly and his men knew how to call out on the Lord for strength and help.  He had priests ready with trumpets, and much of his war machine was directly connected to God through the priesthood, trumpets, and men who knew how to intercede and trust God.  In the end of this brief war which Jeroboam started, Abijah would slaughter over 500,000 men and totally destroy that wicked king's military might.

You and I MUST learn an important lesson from this story.  It's the TEMPLATE for success in our lives.  Abijah's men knew how to:

1.  Call upon the Lord in an intercessory fashion.

2.  Blow trumpet call warnings and announcements that got God's attention.

3.  Sound the battle cry, grab their swords and get down to the business at hand.

With these three capacities, you can instigate a move of God's kingdom into the earth.  Just as He appeared for Abijah's men, so will He appear for you.  He gave the men such strength that they wiped out an entire opposing army.  God will do the same for you.  But you must follow the template/pattern.  This is a secret given only to people who read God's Word and understand it's implications.  This is an inheritance tool that is yours through Christ because you have sought Him out and understood what He is saying to you!

COMPASS GUIDE keeps a student in the Word of God every day so that we can dig out template/patterns such as this one, and implement them in our lives.  We all have eight areas of our lives that must be brought into subjection to the Lord. And these eight territories must be defensible against strong opposition.  You and I absolutely WILL run into Jeroboams in our future. But if we know the pattern of God, we can invoke His mighty arm of protection and destruction against enemy kings, and execute dominion in the earth through King Jesus' name!

Consider battles that you may come into regarding your purpose, plans, goals, and your vision.  How might you invoke the Kingdom of God upon your enemies when they stand opposed to you?  Be prepared to execute the kingdom of God upon your enemies!  king king king
