06/22 Compass Guide Comments By Dr. Daniel Daves

Post by Admin on Sat Jun 22, 2013 12:45 pm

22-Jun 1 Chron. 19-20, John 7-8, Psalms 111-115, Proverbs 22

1 Chron 20:4-8 (NIV) 4 In the course of time, war broke out with the Philistines, at Gezer. At that time Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Sippai, one of the descendants of the Rephaites, and the Philistines were subjugated. 5 In another battle with the Philistines, Elhanan son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver's rod. 6 In still another battle, which took place at Gath, there was a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot--twenty-four in all. He also was descended from Rapha. 7 When he taunted Israel, Jonathan son of Shimea, David's brother, killed him. 8 These were descendants of Rapha in Gath, and they fell at the hands of David and his men.

In today's reading we find that King David crushed every enemy that set up against him.  All of David's men fought just like he did, and under his great anointing as king of Israel.  One of David's mighty men took out one of Goliath's brothers, and his own brother took out a huge, 6 fingered, 6 toed giant.  David was invincible.  Why?

Remember yesterday that King David was going to build God a house?  But the WORD OF THE LORD came to David and said that they still had alot of work to do, and alot of kingdoms to subdue.  Imagine if David would have started a building project during this time on his own good intentions?  He might have lost one or more of the battles, he would have been unfocused, and his power would have been diminished.  As a matter of fact, Davide might not have engaged some of these enemies in battle because of the need for resources for his building idea, or because of his mis-focused building of a house that God didn't authorize him to build.

I can see how important it is to keep focused on the plan of God.  It's also important to have A WORD FROM THE LORD to follow.  But will God give you a word from Heaven that shows you how to build, what to build, and what to walk away from? Absolutely!

The COMPASS GUIDE 25 word statement is one of the core elements of the strategy of God.  With your 25 word Core Vision Statement, you will know what to focus on and what to forsake.  You will discover God's dream inside of you.  And just like David, your resources, relationships, and energy will be focused in a direction that God has planned for you so you can be ultimately successful in your life and future plans.  The 25 word Core Vision Statement is the key WORD OF THE LORD which I highly recommend that you pursue.  kingkingking
